Breast Augmentation

Ideal candidates are women who have small or asymmetrical breasts, feel their breasts don’t “fit” their bodies, and have realistic expectations of surgery. Breast augmentation can enhance the size and shape of breasts, improve body proportions, and boost self-confidence.

Dr. Green will guide you through the decision-making process, discussing implant size, type, incision location, and implant placement in detail. He will also discuss alternative options, such as fat injection.

Breast augmentation is an outpatient procedure, typically taking about two hours. Anesthesia is administered prior to surgery. Dr. Green makes the incisions and places the implants according to the pre-determined surgical plan. Preoperative sizing is done in the office.

After completing the procedure, he closes the incisions with sutures, and a post-operative garment is applied. His preferred approach is to place the implant through the armpit (Axilla). The scar is almost completely invisible when fully healed. There is no scar at all on the chest. He places the implant under the muscle, which provides better coverage of the implant and reduces the risk for capsule formation, which is one of the risks of breast augmentation with implants.

Dr. Green uses Silicon Gel implants through the axilla with a Keller Funnel.

During recovery, expect some bruising, swelling, and breast tenderness. These side effects should subside within two weeks. Dr. Green provides comprehensive instructions, a prescription for pain medication, and his personal cell phone number for any questions.
